Health Promotion & Disease Prevention / Juniper

HPDP / Juniper

Program Description

Health Promotion and Disease Prevention program aims to promote the effective management of chronic disease by providing activities to our senior population. It is considered an “evidence-based program” by the US Department of Health and Human Services and is effective and appropriate for seniors. It not only contributes to bettering the physical health of seniors but also serves as an effective means to promote stress reduction and alleviate depressive symptoms in their lives. Health Promotion and Disease Prevention program is provided with funds from the Trellis organization.

Juniper is a network of community organizations delivering evidence-based programs across Minnesota. Juniper classes help people take an active role in improving their health and quality of life. With Juniper’s support, KSC provides various exercise classes to promote the physical and mental well-being of older adults aged 60 and over.
